CERTIFICATIONS

CDBC (Certified Dog Behavior Consultant)- The IAABC Certified designation represents the pinnacle of achievement for animal behavior consultants. This credential indicates multiple years of experience and the ability to tackle challenging, complex cases. Along with a recommendation of over 500 hours of training/behavior work, and 400 hours of continuing education work(seminars, classes, certification programs, etc), before taking the exam, you must submit letters of recommendation by a client, colleague and Veterinary professional. Once reviewed by the IAABC board, if approved, you may take the exam, of which you must pass all sections, inclusive of 3 case studies, with an 80% or higher to earn your certification. It require a number of continuing education credits over certain periods of time to maintain the certifications. This ensures I stay up to date on the science and am always learning new things and ways to help you and your pets, to best work with them in a way that works for them.

FFCP(Trainer) Fear Free Certified Professional- Completing the Fear Free Animal Trainer Program allows trainers to work in partnership with veterinary teams to prevent and alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress and improve an animal’s emotional wellbeing during veterinary care and home care. This certification program is designed to give qualified animal trainers the knowledge and tools required to begin implementing Fear Free techniques with their clients’ pets at the veterinary hospital, through in-clinic training classes for puppies and kittens, and in day-to-day training of animals in the home. Certifications require a number of continuing education credits over certain periods of time to maintain the certifications. This ensures I stay up to date on the science and am always learning new things and ways to help you and your pets, to best work with them in a way that works for them.

VSA CDT (Victoria Stilwell Academy Certified Dog Trainer)- This is a year long program, educating using science based positive reinforcement methods in which there is a well rounded curriculum of learning development, biology, neuro science, history, learning theory and foundational principles before you even start with training. Quizzes and exams for each section must be passed before moving on, and you work closely with a mentor through the whole curriculum. Video submissions of working with and training dogs are submitted for review and also must receive a passing grade to proceed. Upon completion of the full curriculum, a certification is awarded. 

EQUINE COOPERATIVE CARE(certificate of Completion)- Works with techniques and methods for working with your horse and helping them to be comfortable for daily care, like hoof cleaning and grooming, and also facilitates Veterinary care needs, from routine to emergency preparation type care.

Aggression in Dogs Master Course (certificate of completion)- This is a 6 month long course that deals with educating techniques(defensive leash handling skills, for example)  when handling/encountering aggression in dogs. It also discusses best approaches in training scenarios with case studies and things to consider. 

DN-CPCP - DogNostics Certified Pet Care Professional- While this is geared more toward pet sitters/boarding type care, it involves caring for pets and working with them using fear free principles while handling, gearing up(harness/collars) and prepping for walks, enrichment and so much then.

In addition to these training certifications  I am also Certified in Pet CPR and Advanced First Aid.

I'm also a member of the Pet Professional Guild (PPG) and have taken an oath to do no harm and to not use aversive methods meant to cause fear and pain in my training like shock, choke, prong, horse whips, etc.
